Free or Slave?

CHRIST tells us in John 8:34

“Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin.”

John 8:36 says, “If the Son sets you free, ye shall be free indeed”

Today, many are enslaved and in the mind one may profess to love and identify or feel comfortable with the enslavement, and find no need to seek for help to be set free.

”...Know ye not ye are wretched, miserable and blind?” Rev 3:17

Some do not know/ identify as though they’re in bondage because of how sin has blinded the eyes/mind. Sin is treated as a way of life.

CHRIST says, “come let me set you free”.

Free from what? That is a good question. Don’t you want to be set free from envy, anger, jealousy and actually be happy and content with self control? Free from idleness, laziness, disorderly, self disrespect whether in dress, fornication. Free from perverted appetite that is taking control of you and you could get sick from entertaining it and being enslaved by it.

Free from feeling the need to tell lies to get your things done (self protection), free from putting other things before GOD (which therefore makes those things be idols). Free from intemperance. Free from not allowing yourself to rest (Exodus 20:8-11)

The list goes on my child, echoes the LORD. However, if you let me clean your house, you will have to fill it with something new, lest something worse come upon you. (John 5:14, Matthew 12:43-46)

In fact, for that worse thing not to come upon you, this will be a battle of your life which would need for you to subdue the flesh, and for that to be successful you have yo abide in ME, and for you to want to abide in ME, you have to be born again, born of the Spirit (John3) otherwise you won’t desire MY will and MY way, when I tell you “this is the way walk ye in it” (Isaiah 30:21) and all this will have to take place moment by moment. Talk with ME, tell ME everything that goes on inside of you, tell ME all you hear (2 Cor 10:5) bring every thought under subjection to ME...all this sayeth thy LORD.

This is how we can live victorious lives and it is only moment by moment. Thus, the LORD says, “your sins be forgiven ye, go and sin no more” (John 5:14) This is grace,amazing grace! Not only being given an opportunity to inherit eternal life, but being set free from the bondage of sin.

Matthew 1:21 - “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

This is the gospel in full, good news of restoration, being set free and being renewed. It is a journey. An upward journey 🙏 Moment by moment is important to remember.
