For He satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul He fills with good things. ~ Psalm 107:9
Do you remember? Yes, that wonderful experience that made you want to stay up perhaps and just review the day. Maybe the first time you heard the words I love you! And you knew they were true. Or perhaps you’re longing for that day…
Maybe the day you dreaded the most came to pass. Perhaps you lost a loved one, and then it’s never the same again. Perhaps you yearn for that void to be filled.
How about, the day you gave your life to Christ? Was it 5,10,20 years ago? Or this morning? Perhaps even not yet, but maybe you might before this day ends or as you read along. However, let’s just say even then, we can have a fresh rebaptism with Him every single day, and surrender to the Lord, and renew our commitment to Him. “His mercies are new every morning" (Lamentation 3:22) and we need His grace everyday for He is our source of strength (Philippians 4:13)
It’s a wonderful thing to love. Have you been in love before? Oh to know you are loved! Perhaps your upbringing did not exemplify love and care, and I’m sorry if that was the case. Definitely, our homes can make such an impact with how we relate with one another and even with God. However, our Amazing God is here to Restore💕
The Bible in John 3:16 tells us so much that I still fail to fully grasp. For God so loved the world. My friend, there is power in the Word of God, but we have to believe and be open to hear what He is saying to us. By the power of the Holy Spirit we can receive those ears of faith and take God at His Word. As it says, “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing the Word of God” (Romans 10:17) I encourage us to take our Bibles (personal love letter from God) and read prayerfully! God made sure to preserve His Word, and people lost their lives defending the precious Word. How Great Mercy. Do you hear Him call you by name? He loves us. How do I know that? Well, tangible reasons and the eyes of faith.
I’m thankful to have heard the gospel of salvation in my existence. I didn’t do anything to deserve to know. Then beyond that, to know of a personal God. As a result have come to see tangible differences for when I have chosen to have a relationship with God, and when I took matters onto my own hands. The difference is day and night. God is gracious.
Truly, the Lord yearns and longs for us. What’s interesting is that us beings also yearn and long for something. Mostly, we want to be loved. Isn’t that interesting that God is Love (1 John 4:16) In reality we long for our Father. It says, we all have been given a measure of faith (Romans 12:3) this therefore makes sense why we long and yearn for something better even when we don’t know what it is.
Have you tried different things, and they just seem not to bring that satisfaction on a continuous basis without draining your soul. How about if you have heard the gospel all your life and it also doesn’t seem to click? Then what is it?
My friend, the Word is true that we have to be born again (Read John chapter 3) and not only then, but everyday we need to be born again so as to continue desiring the things of God. You see, because of what came to humanity called sin (tendency to want to do wrong even when it hurts us, others or God) we unfortunately therefore need a new life (which is a miracle that we can have it, and a miracle when/as it happens daily) in-order to want that which is good for us. Even then there is a continuous battle, and that is why we need to be awake and thus fight the good fight of faith, as we are naturally bent to evil left to ourselves. What Proverbs 8:36 says is so unfortunately true, “But he who sins against me wrongs his own soul; All those who hate me love death.”
When we decide to follow what God tells us, then satan gets angry and our natural inclinations get pulled in different directions and only God can calm the stormy sea of our minds and give us clear directions, stability, and power to overcome. It is a moment by moment journey. Left to ourselves we will sink our own ships. Have any memories where you have done this? Oh may we hunger for change, through Christ we can🙏🏾
And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. ~ 2 Cor 12:9
What I have come to see is that, tears can be wiped away, memories can be forgotten, but a heart void of God can never be mended or satisfied until God Himself sits on the throne of our minds. I'm thankful it's that way.
God is love, and He is the right and best teacher to teach us love. In fact, all He does to us is filled with love. When He chastens us, it hurts but look at what becomes of us. Even if we never knew love, as we read God’s word, and walk with Him as a personal Savior, He then changes our minds and fills it with true love as we read it in 1 Cor 13, even if we haven’t experienced this in our spheres. When we look through nature and look at the miracles God has performed in our lives, all those are Love moments. For God so loved the world❤️🌎
Today, you can ask God to come into your life if you have never done this, or you can recommit your life to Him! I know you will be glad you did. All we ever want, Jesus is all and more. We just need to have our minds changed and renewed and then it will all make sense. He is our greatest desire, and only He can fill our cups to overflow to others also.
Here are two songs I hope will bless your soul. The truth is, Jesus is coming soon, and Babylon (falsehood) is fallen which means God has made a way for you and I to see and seek truth and walk in it. We do not have to remain in error or void of God. Life is meant to be lived. Only through One who is alive can we have life. May we live even today, and that Christ can use you and I to be a beacon of Hope to another.
